Neal Martin "The 2022 Fourcas Hosten is pure, focused and floral on the nose. Precocious black fruit laced with cassis is exuberant and almost sorbet-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, dense with a bit of muscle toward the finish. Yet, paradoxically there is sufficient finesse to keep you wanting to take another sip. Sophisticated. Looking for a cheeky Listrac? Step right this way."

Jane Anson "Edge of reduction, but this has chewy tannins by the bucketful, and a whisk of cocoa bean, mocha and liquorice, intense and concentrated, great ageing potential. Hard to argue with the quality of this wine. 40% new oak for ageing 15% amphora and the rest in one year old barrels. Traditional egg white fining."
