Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 la Louviere is a little closed, revealing black plums, blackberries and black raspberries with hints of tar, earth, tobacco and pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and taut with grippy tannins, finishing with a lively crushed bramble berries character.
The 2017 La Louvière has a straightforward bouquet with earthy black fruit tinged with leather and autumn leaves. It is gentle, nicely defined but it does lack some vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, well balanced with good acidity. There is plenty of tobacco and spice towards the finish although, it is not deep or long. It stays within the confines of the vintage and you know, that suits it well.
