Decanter 93/100

This is a lovely wine, packed full of Pomerol typicity – it’s inky with dark chocolate, black cherry coulis and touches of smoke that spread through the palate. The tannins are chewy but full of life, they grab on and massage the dark, cassis, knitted-down fruits along the way. Drinking Window 2026 - 2040

Jancis Robinson 16+/20

80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc on gravel and clay over iron-rich subsoil. Barrel sample. Deepest crimson. More vanilla than fruit on the nose. Oak central. Firm, chewy tannins, there's enough freshness but there's a thickness to the tannins that I associate with oak. Generous and tangy but seems too oaky. (JH) Drink 2024-2029

Glengarry Review

Liz Wheadon - 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Quite restrained now, though the plum notes are peeking through. A concentrated red on the palate, with nice balance and finesse. Very elegant and poised. Sensationally good balance.

Parker 92-94

Lisa Perrotti-Brown. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Bourgneuf has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and leaps from the glass with vibrant kirsch, blackberry pie and crushed plums notions followed by hints of chargrilled meats, fertile loam, truffles and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has an intense core of black fruits and savory layers, framed by rounded tannins and loads of freshness, finishing on a meaty note.
