James Suckling 94-95/100This is a juicy and wonderful wine with blackberry and graphite aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, dense and wild. Rich yet fresh and lively. From biodynamically grown grapes.
Jancis Robinson 16.5+/20
Barrel sample. Deep, dark cherry red. A little more lifted and floral than La Gurgue but still with concentrated dark fruit. Dark and rocky and mineral on the palate, finely textured tannins, dusty in a good way. Layer upon layer of tannins. Big and firm and dry on the finish. Needs lots of time for the oak to recede but it has the freshness to balance, even if the freshness comes partly from the tannins. (JH) 14% Drink 2028-2038
Glengarry Review
Liz Wheadon - 68% Cabernet (higher than usual for this Chateau), Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Now Demeter certified – Biodynamic. Juicy red fruits and florals, there’s a generous fruity core to this wine with very fine textural tannins. One of the things that struck me with this wine is the energy, it’s likely and fresh. A great year for Ferriere.
