Parker 92-94Pale to medium lemon-gold colored, the 2018 la Tour Blanche is a little reticent to begin, opening out to notes of honeydew melon, nectarines and baked apples with touches of lightly browned toast, allspice and powdered ginger. The palate features loads of zip and zing with bags of freshness to counter the rich fruit, finishing on a lingering gingery note.

80% Sémillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Muscadelle; 100% new oak. RS 125 g/l, TA 3.8 g/l, pH 3.83. Barrel sample. Cloudy sample. Ripe, gently honeyed citrus. Broad and ripe but with a decent core of freshness to balance. Opulent in sour-apricot fruit. Moreish even though so sweet, the texture helps to hold your attention. (JH) 13.6% Drink 2025-2038
