James Suckling 96-97/100

This has a real mineral undertone this year with lots of dark-berry, cherry and blueberry character. Full-bodied, chewy and powerful. Excellent. Limestone coming through.

Jancis Robinson 16/20

48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Carmenère. Barrel sample. By no means the deepest crimson. Sweet fruit on the nose. Competent but not the most dramatic vintage I've tasted from this property. Sucky-stony texture with quite a high register of fine tannin. Drink 2025-2034

Parker 89-91+

Lisa Perrotti-Brown. From northern Macau, the 2018 Belle-Vue includes five grapes in the blend for the first time this vintage: 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Carménère. Aging is projected to run 14 months in 30% new, 30% one-year-old and 20% two-year-old barrels, and the wine has 14% alcohol. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sings of chocolate-covered cherries, fresh red and black currants and black raspberry scents with hints of wild sage, pencil lead and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has bags of freshness and energy with a chewy texture and mineral-tinged finish.
