James Suckling 92-93/100This is really fresh and compact with wet-earth, blackberry and conifer character. It’s medium bodied, tight and focused. Solid.
Neal Martin Vinous 88-90/100
The 2019 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel has a fragrant bouquet with vivacious red cherries intermingling with cranberry and wild strawberry aromas, a little more sophisticated than previous vintages. The palate is soft and malleable on the entry, leading to a more structured middle with light ferrous notes emerging towards the finish. There is just a touch of piquancy on the aftertaste but overall, this is a fine Goulée.
The Wine Advocate 88-90/100
A blend of of 86% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc, aging in 20% new barriques, the 2019 Goulée by Cos d'Estournel (13.53% alcohol) has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and leaps from the glass with vivacious scents of ripe red and black plums, black cherries and mulberries with touches of spice cake, violets and star anise. Medium-bodied, the palate has bags of energetic black berry flavors with a rugged frame of chewy tannins and loads of freshness, finishing with an herbal lift. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
