Vinous 92-94The 2021 Clos Saint-Martin is a heady, exuberant wine, even in this challenging vintage. Clos Saint-Martin stands out for its mid-palate sweetness and generosity. Ripe red plum, blood orange, spice and rose petal give the 2021 an exotic flair that is hard to miss. This is a fine effort for the year. Terrific. Antonio Galloni

In a year of generally rather marginal maturity, the 2021 Clos St. Martin is unusual in that it could almost pass for a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with its aromas of blueberry liqueur, licorice and creamy new oak and its medium to full-bodied, broad and velvety palate. Its prime limestone terroir does show through in the wine's lively spine of acidity and saline finish, even if this is likely to be a bit too stylized for purists. Tasted twice. William Kelley
