Wine Advocate 88-90

This 37-hectare estate in the southern Médoc (not far from the likes of La Lagune and Cantemerle) has delivered a fine effort in the form of the 2021 Sénéjac. Offering up aromas of cassis, spices, pipe tobacco and loamy soil, it's medium-bodied, ample and fleshy, with the supple tannins and charming, open personality that's typical of wines from this sector. Château Talbot's Jean-Michel Laporte is the winemaker. William Kelley

Vinous 88-90

The 2021 Sénéjac was picked from September 24 to October 7 at 29hL/ha and raised in 30% new oak. The perfumed nose features potpourri-tinged red fruit, red cherries and blood orange, nicely focused but not intense. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with grainy tannins, modest depth and just a slight attenuation toward the finish. Enjoy over the next 12-15 years. (12.8% alcohol). Neal Martin.
