Wine Spectator 92-94

Antonio Galloni - The 2022 Quinault L’Enclos is wonderfully polished, but what impresses most is the wine’s balance. In most vintages, the components are evident for a young Quinault, but the 2022 inspires with a seamlessness I don’t recall seeing in the past. Perhaps that is a reflection of a blend that was done early, prior to the malolactic fermentation. Dark blue/purplish fruit, grilled herbs, lavender, spice and graphite are some of the many notes that come alive in the glass. The 2022 is a gorgeous wine and potentially one of the sleepers of this vintage.

Decanter 92

Jane Anson - Soft waves of white pepper and turmeric spice, with crushed red roses aromatics, all signatures of the vintage. This has teased balance out of the spice, and delivers ripe damson and fresh fig fruits, it has a lilting freshness and will be approachable within four or five years. Not entirely escaped the vintage, but deft and succulent flavours, thoroughly enjoyable, if not quite at the heights of 2019 or 2020. 40% 500l casks and 60% 2,000l oak cask for ageing. Harvest August 31 to September 15, so more like Pomeol picking dates than St Emilion. 3.8ph.

James Suckling 93-94

A vivid red with currants and orange peel with some hazelnut and coffee bean. Medium-bodied with a solid core of fruit. Fresh and flavorful. Sand and light stone undertones.

Wine Advocate 91-93

Jeb Dunnuck - I don't see the 2022 Château Quinault L'Enclos matching the 2019 or 2020, but it's clearly an outstanding wine. Based on 63% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, it's a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and structured red, with ripe blackcurrant and plum fruits, some scorched earth and chocolate nuances, firmer tannins, and a good finish. It should come together nicely in bottle.

Vinous 88-90

Neal Martin - The 2022 Quinault l'Enclos, which contains more Merlot this year, has a very ripe and opulent black cherry and blueberry scented nose, perhaps just a little "blocky" compared to recent vintages. The palate is ripe on the entry with thick tannins. Sweet and pastille-like, with blackcurrant and mulberry, yet I find the finish just missing the amplitude of its stablemate, Cheval Blanc.

Parker 89-91

The 2022 Quinault l'Enclos is rich and generous, bursting with aromas of blackberries, plums and dark fruit preserves. Medium to full-bodied, broad and supple, with powdery tannins that temper its somewhat jammy core of fruit, this will drink well young.
