Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW

Jeb Dunnuck 89-91 - The deeply hued 2022 Château Haut-Bergey offers a ripe, round, lush, and medium to full-bodied style as well as attractive plum and darker fruits supported by notes of wild herbs, violets, and lavender. With ripe tannins and plenty of mid-palate depth, this character-filled Pessac will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following decade or more.

Decanter

Jane Anson 88 - Strikingly deep inky colour, as you find time and again in the vintage, here there are hints of over extraction, with fig and baked plum fruits. Earth, liquorice root and smoked sandalwood run through the musuclar tannins, and this is strained but has impact.

James Suckling 94-95

A medium- to full-bodied red with beautiful dark and blue fruit and an array of fine grained, silky tannins. Refined and lingering. Very attractive and textural. From biodynamically grown grapes.

Neal Martin Vinous 89-91

From vineyards farmed biodynamically since 2018, the 2022 Haut Bergey reveals a lively and fresh bouquet of peony, violet, cassis and dark berries, as well as subtle hints of licorice and graphite. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, succulent and supple, with a charming cure of fruit underpinned by bright acids, concluding with a youthfully structured finish.

Antonio Galloni Vinous

Antonio Galloni 87-89 - The 2022 Haut-Bergey is a dense, potent Pessac-Léognan. Super-ripe dark fruit, spice, leather and tobacco are front and center. In two tastings, Haut-Bergey has felt a bit overripe and pruney, but that could also be a slight oxidation in the barrel samples because of low sulfur. Tasted two times.
