Antonio Galloni Vinous 92-95Antonio Galloni "The 2022 Certan de May is a seriously beautiful wine. Ripe, succulent and very juicy, Certan de May offers tons of immediacy. The style is perhaps a bit opulent, but that is the year. Blue/purplish fruit, licorice, lavender, spice and chocolate are front and center in this decidedly hedonistic Pomerol."

The bramble berry and blueberry character with violets and black olives comes through clearly here. It’s full-bodied yet the quality of the tannins are polished and attractive. Strength with appeal. 60% merlot, 30% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon.

The 2022 Certan de May opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, minty berries, spices and fruitcake, followed by a medium to full-bodied, pure and fleshy palate that's lively and harmonious, with good depth and a classically proportioned profile.
