Decanter 93Jane Anson "Impressive, it has lift and character, floral notes of red roses, raspberry leaf and peony, flirts with high alcohols and touches of cloves and tar from the oak, but there is supple fruit underneath, and the tannins have give and lift, not just shutting things down. Vintage signature without overkill. One to look out for, tasted twice. 30% new oak for ageing."

Very attractive, crunchy dark fruit with medium to full body and spiced, chocolatey character. Firm and structured with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. Plenty of currant and hazelnut character.

Neal Martin "The 2022 Sarget de Gruaud Larose was picked from 7 until 24 September at 29.9hL/ha. The nose bodes well with raspberry and wild strawberry scents. There's a faint mocha scent in the background. Overall, the nose is well-defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a liberal sprinkling of white pepper and a slightly gritty finish. Quite open toward the finish, this will be a decent Deuxieme Vin with drinkability from its youth."

The 2022 Sénéjac is one of the best wines that this northern Médoc cru Bourgeois has produced in the last decade or two. Offering up aromas of cherries, dark berries, peonies and pencil shavings, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and succulent, with a rich core of fruit, supple tannins and a persistent finish.
